Acceptable Use Policy

Guidelines for appropriate use of HowdyNeighbor property intelligence data

1. Purpose

HowdyNeighbor provides property- and neighborhood-based marketing intelligence to licensed insurance agents and agencies for customer prospecting and marketing outreach. HowdyNeighbor does not provide consumer reports and may not be used for underwriting, eligibility determination, or pricing of insurance products.

2. Scope

This Policy governs all access to and use of HowdyNeighbor data, services, exports, APIs, dashboards, and derivative outputs.

3. Allowed Use

  • Insurance marketing and prospecting
  • Territory and market planning
  • CRM ingestion and sales enablement workflows
  • Creation of non-binding marketing estimates based exclusively on public property and neighborhood characteristics
  • Lawful outbound communications compliant with TCPA, DNC, CAN-SPAM, and applicable state laws

4. Prohibited Use

  • Underwriting, rating, pricing, eligibility, or insurability decisions – FCRA / State Insurance Law
  • Use of personal characteristics (age, DOB, income, household composition) to modify premiums – FCRA
  • Claims-propensity modeling – FCRA
  • Running CLUE, Verisk, LexisNexis, or bureau data based on HowdyNeighbor outputs – FCRA
  • Creation of consumer reports – FCRA
  • Automated calling or texting without express consent – TCPA
  • Harassment, discrimination, or harm – State/Federal law
  • Resale, redistribution, or sublicensing – Contract

5. Consumer Requests

You must promptly suppress, delete, and cease use of data associated with any individual who requests removal or opt-out.

6. Enforcement

Violation of this Policy results in immediate suspension or permanent termination. HowdyNeighbor reserves the right to audit compliance and report violations to applicable carriers or regulators.
